Bio

Randy Janee is a singer/songwriter, session singer, and YouTuber based out of the Midwest who has been singing professionally since 2014. Born and raised in rural Iowa, she started singing at the early age of three, and has always had a passion for music. Since she was very young, Randy can recall that she always knew she wanted to be a singer. Growing up with a vast exposure to many different genres, her musical influences span across a variety of styles, which include pop, country, rock, oldies, blues, R&B, soul, jazz, classical, and many others. When Randy got into high school, she started regularly singing in jazz bands, school choirs, church bands, and school musicals.

After graduating high school, Randy decided to embark on pursuing a musical career. She would then put together her YouTube channel in 2011 to try and get the attention of record labels; on top of that, she also entered many talent competitions and auditioned for American Idol in 2012. One of her videos from that time got the attention of a Nashville label, who reached out to her about a development deal. When Randy was presented with the offer, she realized she had to recognize the hard truth that she was not yet ready for that kind of opportunity, as she had yet to discover her own sound, so she turned down the offer. That moment, along with other personal life events, led her to the conviction that she needed to change her trajectory and get involved in music ministry, where she would then take a hiatus from her YouTube channel and lead worship for praise bands from 2014 to 2022.

During that time period, Randy had the privelege to record on many different projects, which include former Corey Taylor guitarist Nik Sorak's Hurt People Hurt People LP, a fairy theme for an indie fantasy film, the Academy Award-winning movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, as well as numerous projects from Bridge Worship. She also had the opportunity to perform as an opening act for Christians artists Aaron Shust and Phil Joel from Newsboys with his band, Zealand Worship.

Since leaving from music ministry in 2022, Randy has been primarilly active on her social media pages where she regularly posts short videos of cover songs. Currently, she is in the process of preparing to re-launch her YouTube channel and starting her music business to continue her session work and release her own personal material.
